Are you:
"... someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties..." - John F. Kennedy
Experts cannot effect enduring change.  They only know what they have been taught.
OVERVIEW
A ‘Decent Life’ for everyone is unattainable under our current social and economic systems, which is based on competition.  Society places a false value on materialism and sexuality and controls us through our 'taught' discriminations.  Our economic policies based on competition only corrupts and destroys.  From this, companies have been trained to use the earth and their employees as disposable resources to achieve their monetary bottom line.  "People exist for companies".
As a result, our economy has imploded and the Income Gap, now called the "Great Divergence", has widened.  The Income Gap got its power from Reaganomics with the Trickle-Down Theory at its core.  Reaganomics does not work!  The Trickle-Down Theory does not work!  It has been chipping away at the foundation of the United States for over 30 years.
Over 70% of US households have no net worth.  Most of us are living day to day.  This is the first recession that has not effected everyone across all income levels.
All of us only know what we have been taught.  We have been taught to accumulate wealth by any means and to compete against each other to succeed.  Since they are working within our current systems which we have accepted, we cannot blame individuals/corporations for our problems.  To change our country and the world, we need to be open to and learn a new system based on Collaboration.
The collaborative system is Equitable Development.  Equitable Development will close the Income Gap and create fairness within our society and economy and viability for the environment.  Within Equitable Development, everyone will be peers and have an equitable stake in the economy and society.  There will be one class, "We".  Companies will be utilized by us to achieve a Decent Life.  "Companies will exist for people".
